Project React is two things: a course and a custom application.
The course will have videos teaching you fundamental React concepts and the custom application will have step-by-step written instructions on how to build a big project.
The custom application serves both as your guide and as the project itself. It has all of the code you need to build the project.
This is a unqiue approach that has never been done before.
The course will also have videos of me walking you through the implementation of each step in the project.
My vision for this project
I envisioned this as a project that would teach you all of the fundamental skills in React, while also showing you how to apply them to a big project.
I want to simplify complexity without compromising depth.
The project teaches you advanced concepts while making them digestible for beginners. It ensures that you understand the code you write and why you write it.
It removes any doubt that you might have about your ability to become a great React developer.

The course is organized into 8 modules, and in each module you will learn some theory about React, and then immediately apply it to the project.
Each module is focused on a specific part of React and will contain a series of lessons teaching you the required concepts.
Then, at the end of each module, you will have to implement what you have learnt in the project, building upon the previous module.

You will be introduced to the course, guided on how to install and setup the codebase, and we will go over all of the files available in the application.
1. React Fundamentals
You will learn the fundamentals of React such as JSX, components, component props, the component lifecycle, rendering, styling, and tailwind.
2. State and Event Handlers
You will learn how to work with state in functional components, and how to handle various events such as click events, input on change events, and form submissions.
3. Effects and Data Fetching
You will learn how to work with side effects in React as well as how to implement a robust data fetching solution with loading and error states, and prevent race conditions.
4. Routes and Navigation
You will learn how to implement client-side routing in your React applications as well as how to create and navigate between different pages.
5. Hooks and Performance
You will learn about custom hooks in React, as well as how to optimize the performance of your components and prevent slow renders.
6. State Management
You will learn how to implement a robust state management solution that will provide global state to your entire application in an efficient and scalable way.
7. Forms and Authentication
You will learn how to build complex forms and handle the user's authentication state by allowing them to login and storing access and refresh tokens.
8. Deploying
You will learn how to setup and deploy your React applications online for the entire world to see.

In case it wasn't clear enough by now, you are going to be building one big project throughout the entire course.
You will be guided step-by-step in each module to add more features to the application and by the end, you will have built and deployed complete production-ready application with React.
The project is a booking platform akin to AirBnB or Booking.com.
I chose a booking platform because it touches all of the core areas of React development. We'll need to learn how to create components in React to display the listings, how to handle state and allow filtering, how to fetch the listings from an API, how to navigate to a listing's detail page, how to add a listing to your favorites, and how to put the entire application behind a sign in form.
Building one step at a time
We will start small, setting up the app and building the first components, and progressively add more and more features to the application.
Through this you will learn how to write clean code, how to structure the application architecture efficiently, how to implement design patterns, and how to make sure that your application can scale to large amounts of users and developers.
The goal here is to build your confidence in tackling a project of this size. As mentioned previously, an AI can spit out code in seconds, but not everyone knows how to fit it together and build a complex and architecturally sound system.

I've been working with React for over 8 years, building complex projects as both a team member within startups and corporations, as well as on my own as a freelancer. I've also dedicated long after-work hours to passion projects.
